This committee focuses on issues of equal justice under the law and how it applies to both criminal and civil justice issues in our country today. History provides an ongoing reality of second-class citizenship for African-Americans in the United States. We diligently work towards obtaining full citizenship.

 

Our committee concentrates efforts on exposing the criminalization of our community, maintaining voting rights, excessive prison and probation sentences, and access to jury service.  We believe that the lack justice in the aforementioned areas are intertwined to diminish the power of African- Americans in this country. Our group is committed to engaging African-American women to affect change by being on the forefront for attaining full citizenship in the United States of America.
