Education Committee
“If everything was perfect, you would never learn and you would never grow.” — Beyoncé
This committee addresses the need to improve the womb-to-grave educational experiences of African Americans. This requires that attention be given to the educational pipeline with a focus on the necessity of education as a life-long experience. Our committee tackles education at all levels and implores innovative and different thinking to create successful models for results in our community.
We also explore the use of Science, Technology, Engineering and Mathematics (STEM), not as belonging only to the geniuses among us, but as an important factor affecting all of our lives. The impact of education on politics, economics, justice and health and the reverse relationships are conscientiously discussed. In addition to the need for effective communication both in providing information and messages within and about the African American Community as well as with the broader communities are also explored.
